The series is made up of various story arcs that last between four and five episodes in the anime.

There is also a live-action adaptation called Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Shrill Cries of Summer). The anime series was directed by Chaiki Kon and produced by Studio Deen. In addition to this novel series, it has also been adapted as a game for PC, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, iOS, and Android. "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" (or "When They Cry") is a Japanese murder mystery dojin soft sound novel series that was produced by 07th Expansion. ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri/ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kizuna/ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui (Visual Novel) ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onisarashi-hen ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Yoigoshi-hen ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Kokoroiyashi-hen ◇ Prequel: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Utsutsukowashi-hen ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Himatsubushi-hen ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Tatarigoroshi-hen ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Watanagashi-hen ▷ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onikakushi-hen And it's been out for a year, so we're likely never going to get an English version, and I'm okay with that.Illustration (Original character design): Ryukishi07 The translation feature is still in beta, though, so I will reserve my judgment on it until further notice.įinal note: It's a great game. My one drawback, which is not so much about the game and more about the servant translator itself, is that the game often has too much text for the translator to handle and will cause it to crash. The story itself is a little far-fetched for this particular franchise, but we are, after all, dealing with meta-world layers, time looping, gods, demons, and witches, so, I can let a few weird dog monsters slide. Don't get me wrong, Suzuragi is a fantastic artist, but Akio Watanabe has still captured the essence of our beloved games club members and with the additional fact that he is a former animator for SHAFT makes me love it that much more. Had the game been done in Karin Suzuragi's style (the og higurashi mangaka) then it probably wouldn't have been as well received. Despite the somewhat rough animations in battle, I'm overall elated to be playing this game (with an easy to use translator, yes I shilled out $11 for 200IQ just to use the qooapp servant bite me) I've been a fan of the WTC series for quite some time now, having been introduced to it in 2010, and I disagree with most who say the artstyle clashes with the "aesthetic".
